History:
For the film Le Mans, the American actor Steve McQueen was inspired by his friend Jo Siffert, the famous Swiss driver who, in 1969, became the first racing driver to be sponsored by a watch brand, Heuer. The Monaco Heuer had just been released and impressed McQueen so much that he insisted on wearing it in the film. The Monaco then became the favorite chronograph of the world of motor racing and fashion.
