History:
The history of the Cartier brand begins in 1847 when Louis-François Cartier takes over in Paris the jewelry workshop of his master craftsman Adolphe Picard. Quickly, the house is recognized for its know-how with a first purchase of the nobility from Princess Mathilde in 1856 followed in 1859 by the Empress Eugenie.
Recognized as an exceptional jewelry house, the jewelry made by the Cartier workshops was very successful in the 1900s.
